Hey everyone. I know this week’s post is a day late. It’s actually a beautiful testimony though. I didn’t get out to writing a newsletter this week so I messaged on our WhatsApp group to ask if anyone has anything they would like to share. One of the girls - who wants to stay anonymous - responded and said she had actually been writing something and wasn’t planning to share it with me if it wasn’t for my message. God is so good! So here is a newsletter from another one of our members. If it’s God’s will I will be writing again for next week. Enjoy!

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ‭‭‬‬

Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬-‭19‬

In Corinthians, Paul adressed the people of Corinth. They were believers of God, but seemed to not be “practicing what they preach”. This book is a realistic depiction of the world we live in today: harsh, full of sin, money and fast paced economy.

Despite the hopeless situation Paul faced trying to preach the living gospel to the Corinthians, his devotion to Christ remained steadfast. How?

“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.”

1 Corinthians 2:4

Paul acknowledged his shortcomings and that honouring God was bigger than any of his worries and struggles.

Whether you are a student, a sister, a working person or just simply feel stuck, none of the problems you are facing are less or more important then the next person’s. We all encounter unique situations that feel unfair or leave us in despair, we might dwell on the past mistakes we made, or just feel fed up with life in general.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—” ‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-9 ‬‬

But God is working regardless of that, He is guiding us regardlessly. All we have to do to receive this gift is simply surrender and humble ourselves before Him daily, knowing that it is about Him, not about us.

“You turn mourning to dancing

You give beauty for ashes

You turn shame into glory”

Graves into Gardens Bethel Music & Brandon Lake

Although your current situation might feel hopeless like Paul preaching to the Corinthians, you are seen by God, and I pray that this message gives you the strength to trust God’s timing.
