Hey dear readers, it’s been a while since I last posted. My apologies for that!
I hope you all had a lovely end to your holiday and are feeling ready and excited for the year ahead. I think this year holds some exciting things for The Growing Seed too…

I’ve been seeing this trend on social media recently of making a ‘re-introduction’ of yourself. I thought it would be quite a fun newsletter to write, especially to start off the new year with.

So without further ado, let me reintroduce myself:

My name is Cailyn Oesch.

I just turned 20 which feels quite crazy. I’m excited for next decade of my life and how much growth I know it’s going to bring.

I’m doing my second year of studies in Bcom Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University this year. I’ve really been enjoying my course and have found it very interesting.

I am a daughter of the one and only Lord and dedicate a lot of my life trying to serve Him.

I am a very intentional, reflective and detail orientated person. I value quality over quantity in almost every aspect - from clothing, to friendships, to how I spend my time - and try to get outside of my comfort zone as much as possible. There is so much opportunity and potential that lies behind a couple of awkward or uncomfortable moments.

I am probably classified as an ambivert as I love being with people and believe they play a very important role in my life but also love spending some time in my own company and definitely need time to myself to recharge.

Some of the biggest challenges I’m facing at the moment is learning how to create an intentional life that honours the Lord, building deep and meaningful friendships, dealing with the chaos of emotions this period of my life has stirred and, on a lighter note, trying to figure out a way to organise my photos that I can look back at fun memories and all my ‘aesthetic pictures’ easily.

My passions lie in a variety of creative pursuits including piano, photography, writing and fashion as well as being active and outdoors - especially if its playing tennis, going for a hike, doing a pilates workout or trying something new. I also love cooking and enjoy reading a good romance or historical novel.

The Growing Seed is a platform I have been building since April 2025 that aims to help Christian, university student who are navigating the start of adulthood. This is the stage of life I am currently in and if you also feel called to live a more intentional, God-honouring life as a young woman we’d love to have you around. So far we have a newsletter where I and others share our experience on this journey through personal stories, reflections and practical tips. There are also a couple of exciting developments in the pipeline.

Thank you so much for reading today’s newsletter. I hope you enjoy my spin of this trend and learning a bit more about me. If any or all of what I shared today resonates with you’ll definitely enjoy everything else The Growing Seed has to offer.

It’s good to be back at it with The Growing Seed and I’m excited for what lies ahead!

Have a lovely rest of your week and we’ll chat again soon,

Cailyn xx
