Good morning friends, I hope you are having a great week. Thank you for all the positive feedback on last week’s post. Have you been able to apply any of the strategies to your daily lives? If you missed last week’s newsletter and would like to read it, you can access it here.
So recently I have really been looking at what direction to take The Growing Seed in, and based on the feedback you gave at the end of last year and personal conviction, I believe God is calling me to direct the content of this platform to address intentional living. In light of this, I thought a great place to start would be by defining intentionality and looking at what it means to live intentionally as a Christian. I hope this you enjoy this newsletter and find this information valuable.
What Is Intentionality?
Intentionality is primarily about purpose. It describes a way of making decisions and acting that is consciously planned rather than by chance or accident.
As a character trait, it describes the ability to make deliberate choices based on personal values, to pay attention to details in daily interactions and to respond with care and purpose. It implies a personal awareness of the way we think and act and a self-discipline to make sure that what we do aligns with what is important to us.
This means that in order to be intentional, we need to have a clear understanding of our values and what is important in our lives.
Intentionality In a Christian Context
For us as Christians, we know that our purpose is to glorify God and live for Him. The instructions of the Bible is what we value and we align our ways of life to the example Jesus set.
What does God want us to be intentional about?
In order to answer this question, we need knowledge and understanding of the message of the Bible. This will allow us to determine our behaviour and we will be able to live in alignment with God’s calling over our lives.
I have been on this journey of learning what God’ purpose and call for us is for the last 4 years and I am continually growing it my understanding.
This is a topic that is vast and has applications in every area of our lives. It is the topic I plan on focusing on through breaking down the countless teachings and examples that the Bible gives us and, through small, incremental changes, sharing how we can apply them to cultivate a lifestyle that reflects God’s purpose for our lives. For now it will be in the form of weekly newsletters released every Thursday morning, but there will soon be some new forms of content…
I’m excited to continue growing in a life lived for Jesus with you and we will chat again soon,
Cailyn xx
