Good morning! I hope you have been doing well. I have been traveling a bit in the Western Cape for the last week. It has been such a blessing and so filled with gratitude as we have reflected on how privileged we are to have the opportunities we’ve had. Due to this I did not get much time to write a newsletter this week. It didn’t feel right not to post though so I want to still share something small I have been reflecting on recently. Today’s newsletter will be short and sweet but I pray it still blesses you.

During my quiet time last week, I was thinking about going home for the break and being around my loved ones again. I started reflecting on how we start to simply know who did something by the way it was done. An example of this is my mom. She always leaves flowers and chocolates in my room when I come back home. Although I don’t see her putting it there, I know she is the one who did it. This happens in all the small details with the people who we love and are close to. You recognise who cooked dinner by the type of ingredients and flavours used or identify someone’s footsteps simply by the sound they make on the floor.

Then the Lord’s gentle voice contributed to my reflecting asking me “how much more is this true for me?”

As we deepen our relationship with Jesus, we come to recognise His hand at work in our lives as well. We notice the intricate details of a flower’s petals or the delicacy of raindrops on tree branches. We see the way He works all things out for our good and makes a way when it seems impossible.

The thing is, we need to know who Jesus is and be close to Him to notice these details. Just as we only really recognise all the little things about someone when we know them well, we also need to know Jesus well. We build this relationship with the Lord through spending time in His word, listening to Him in prayer and reflecting on how He worked in past events and answered your prayers.

This is such a sweet part of human relationships as well as our relationship with the Lord that only comes through intimate connection. It is a beautiful of part of showing and feeling loved and I hope you all get to share in this experience over the exam and holiday season.

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the works of his hands.”

Psalm 19:1 (The Witness of Creation and Scripture)

note: I would recommend reading this whole Psalm as it reflects on seeing God’s hand in everything.

Now that the holiday has started and I’m going to be at home (flying back today!), I’m looking forward to spending more time working on The Growing Seed. I’m praying God will do some good things and you will see the fruits of that in the next 4/5 weeks.

We’ll chat soon again, love Cailyn x
