Hey! I’m Cailyn, the author, and would love to welcome you to The Growing Seed. If your curious about the person and intention behind these words, here is a bit about me and my newsletter.

For the first 19 years of my life I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa. This year I moved to the beautiful town of Stellenbosch to start studying a Bcom Industrial Psychology degree (it’s basically HR). I am a daughter of the Lord and have been walking with Him for about 4 years after growing up in a ‘lukewarm’ family. I am a very creative person and have always loved reading and writing. I don’t really know what else there is to say about myself for this intro. My hope is that we’ll get to know each other better as time goes on :)

In 2023 I was given the opportunity to be part of writing a devotional series for my youth group about true worship. In 2024 I was invited to write a devotion for YouVersion. These experiences sparked a call in me to create a writing platform of my own. After much trial and error - here we are!

So to put it into a nice little statement: my vision is for God to use The Growing Seed to build a community that helps young ladies navigate the journey of becoming a Godly woman, cultivate an intentional lifestyle in order to pursue our unique purposes, and create a space for us to connect, encourage and share what we learn along the way. So if that sounds like something you would like to be part of, please don’t hesitate to get involved and subscribe!

I would ideally like to post a newsletter every Saturday morning (quite honestly, I don’t know how realistic this is, but I’ll try!). It will be available via email, on this website or as a document on this WhatsApp group - because I don’t even read emailed newsletters. I would love to engage with you and hear your thoughts on the topics I write about.
