Hi friends, I’m so sorry for not posting any newsletters over the last two weeks. For those of you who don’t know, I was actually on a trip in Europe with my boyfriend and his family which was an incredible blessing. I’m sure I will be writing more about some lessons I learned from that time in the near future but today I wanted to talk about something that is becoming the reality for many of us - the exam season.
I know I’ve written a previous newsletter on this topic and if you would like to read more you can find it here.
Today I just wanted to give you a more brief encouragement to help you tackle this season with God.
“So whether you eat or drink or anything you do, do it all for the glory of God”
Scripture encourages us that everything we do in our lives - the things that seem most mundane and unenjoyable - we can actually use as a way to glorify God. One of the opportunities I believe we have to live in this way is during exams.
Exams can be stressful and overwhelming but what if we did them for the glory of God?
What if we stand firm on the promises that if God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31) and that He will establish our paths when we commit them to Him (Proverbs 16:3)?
Why not lean into the care and support of our loving father?
This is the way I see it, and if you have been feeling overwhelmed, incapable and anxious I want to encourage you to adopt this same mindset:
God has given us the amazing blessing of education and a purpose
We are called to steward our our blessings well
We can do this by working hard and praying over this season for strength, ability to reach our goals and peace
We can then trust that God will use our obedience and bless us in the results of every test and in our path forward
This means we can let go of striving and live out this season that is usually characterized by stress, cramming and struggle with rest, capability and strength
It’s crazy how much this has transformed my experience of exams. I’m currently writing this newsletter an hour and a half before going to write an exam simply because I prayed for peace, ability and strength and find myself understanding the work and trusting that the Lord will carry me through what I have no control over - the actual exam.
So wether you are writing exams now, have a busy season at work or simply find yourself slaving away at all that is on your plate, I pray that you would live out this, and every season to come, by dedicating it to God and reaping the fruit of your trust and faithfulness.
